19th Annual Stella Artois
St. Louis International Film Festival

2010 SLIFF
General info
Cinema St. Louis is now accepting entries for the 2010 19th annual edition of the Stella Artois St. Louis International Film Festival. This internationally renowned event will take place Thursday, Nov. 11 through Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010.
The St. Louis International Film Festival (SLIFF), a 501(c)3 tax-exempt charitable organization established as a Missouri not-for-profit in July 1992, enhances the St. Louis area's cultural life by presenting events that highlight and advance film as an art form. The festival - named one of the "10 Best International Festivals in the U.S." by Chris Gore's The Ultimate Film Festival Survival Guide - is especially concerned with exhibiting American independent productions and horizon-expanding international films that would otherwise never screen in St. Louis. The fest also provides local audiences with the opportunity to preview high-quality art films before their commercial release. Filmmaker attendance has been an important aspect of SLIFF since its inception, allowing filmgoers to meet and question moviemakers both informally and in educational settings.
Mission: The fest's goal is to present films that offer glimpses of the human experience from around the world - SLIFF believes that when we learn about others' cultures and perspectives, we discover something about ourselves. SLIFF strives for inclusiveness by featuring films that thoughtfully and provocatively address issues of race, age, ethnicity, and sexual identity.
