Cinema St. Louis hosts its annual Oscar Night® America fundraiser, St. Louis ’ only Oscar® party officially sanctioned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, from 6-10:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, at Monarch Restaurant, 7401 Manchester Rd.
Participants – who must be 21 or older – will watch ABC’s telecast of the 84th Academy Awards® ceremony on high-definition TVs. Complimentary Purus Vodka cocktails will be served from 6-7 p.m.; complimentary Stella Artois will be available throughout the night; and a buffet of appetizers by the Pasta House Co. and Monarch will be served from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
The Oscar® telecast, hosted by Billy Crystal, will begin at 6 p.m. with red-carpet arrivals. Local host Mark Reardon of KMOX (1120 AM) will give away attendance prizes during live segments at commercial breaks. A silent auction will be held throughout the evening, and select items will be auctioned live by the Pasta House Co.’s Kim Tucci .
Tickets are $75 ($50 tax deductible). Price includes Purus Vodka cocktails from 6-7 p.m.; Stella Artois throughout the night (cash bar for all other drinks); a buffet of appetizers by the Pasta House Co. and Monarch; silent and live auctions; and attendance prizes. All guests will receive a gift bag with an official Oscar® program or a limited-edition event poster, plus other items. Free parking is available in the Monarch lot or on the street.
The nonprofit Cinema St. Louis annually presents the St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase in July and St. Louis International Film Festival in November.
