Interning with Cinema St. Louis offers individuals a glimpse behind the scenes of St. Louis’ film industry. It offers the chance to see how movie theaters operate, how film festivals are organized, and how not-for-profit arts organizations are structured. Cinema St. Louis interns are responsible for maintaining membership and email databases, constructing weekly e-newsletters (which spotlight St. Louis-area film events), processing and cataloging film-festival submissions, volunteering at Cinema St. Louis events, and promoting Cinema St. Louis as an organization through the St. Louis area.

Interns are scheduled weekly shifts in the Cinema St. Louis office but are also expected to be available during such Cinema St. Louis events as the St. Louis International Film Festival and St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase. This gives the individual the opportunity to see Cinema St. Louis operating in several different capacities. The intern staff is an integral part of Cinema St. Louis.

As an office of only four employees, interns supplement our organization with countless hours of hard work and dedication. The mission of Cinema St. Louis is to showcase the best in international, documentary, and American independent cinema. Believing that we discover something about ourselves when we learn about others' cultures and perspectives, Cinema St. Louis offers programs that provide glimpses of the human experience from around the world and thoughtfully address issues of race, ethnicity, and sexual identity. With the work and support of our intern staff, we accomplish that mission.
